Hector Lavoe, born Héctor Juan Pérez Martínez, was a Puerto Rican salsa singer and songwriter. Known as "El Cantante de los Cantantes" (The Singer of Singers), Lavoe was a pivotal figure in the salsa music scene of the 1970s and 1980s. His distinctive voice and emotive delivery made him one of the most beloved and influential salsa artists of all time. Lavoe's music continues to inspire new generations of Latin music fans worldwide.
