The Adrenaline: Team Play DLC expansion takes an already great game to the next level, adding a sixth player to the fray, a team play mode and character-specific abilities and weapons. Fans of Adrenaline will know that the higher the player-count the greater the mayhem (and fun!), and with the orange-coloured dual-Magnum toting cyborg, Echo, you can now let six players go hell-for-leather – this means there will always be someone nearby to shoot at! The character sculpts and artwork in the Adrenaline base game were bursting with personality but were identical and generic in terms of what they could do. The Adrenaline: Team Play DLC expansion delivers upon the potential and “turns the plastic figures into characters” with the addition of character-specific abilities and weapons. Will you use Banshee’s Mind Control ability to control your opponents and force them to shoot each other, or poison your enemies with Sprog’s venom (which takes the form of transparent green skulls)? Dozer can charge his batteries to deal super amounts of damage, while Violet has a team of nanobots at her behest that can completely manipulate how marks work. Echo can hack the ammo tiles on the board and use them as exploding mines or teleporters and the yellow emoji robot, :D-Struct-Or, can use power-up cards as hand grenades and even roll himself into a wrecking ball and smash through the opposition! The new Adrenaline Rush system allows you to activate cool weapon effects and use your adrenaline actions, but it will tire you out and means it will require one less damage to give you a killshot. The team play element allows anywhere from two to six players to take control of a team of characters in a three versus three battle for domination. The teams take turns as a group and all damage goes into a buffer area that flushes when full (six or more damage). In addition to dealing damage, when you flush the opposition’s damage buffer your team gains rewards depending on how many opponents they damaged. The rewards are listed on the buffer reward tile (that was randomly selected during set-up). There are three buffer reward tiles in the box so there’s a nice bit of variation from game to game.
