Celebrate the enduring legacy of Frédéric Chopin with the Complete Edition, a 17CD box set on Brilliant Classics that gathers the Polish Romantic master’s most beloved piano works in compelling, newly curated performances. Drawing on Chopin’s hallmark lyricism, poetic melancholy, and virtuosic brilliance, this third Chopin Edition elevates the series with seven fresh recordings and several newly licensed gems. Hear Alessandro Deljavan’s revelatory Etudes and Waltzes, Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy’s illuminating readings of the Preludes, Ballades, Impromptus, and Sonatas Nos. 2 & 3, and Rem Urasin’s characterful Mazurkas. The orchestral works feature Ewa Kupiec in the concertos and Abbey Simon in additional concertante pieces, while Earl Wild’s deeply felt Nocturnes and Ivan Moravec’s authoritative Scherzi provide touchstone interpretations. Artist Background:

Frédéric Chopin (1810–1849) was a Polish composer and piano virtuoso whose works helped define the Romantic era. Renowned for his poetic intimacy, nuanced rubato, and refined harmonic language, Chopin wrote almost exclusively for the piano, elevating forms such as the nocturne, mazurka, waltz, prelude, étude, ballade, scherzo, and polonaise. Splitting his life between Poland and Paris, he distilled dance rhythms and national idioms into highly personal statements of lyricism and drama. His music—by turns tender, melancholic, and brilliant—remains central to pianistic art and continues to influence composers and performers worldwide.
